Over this last weekend, I found myself in deep prayer to God, asking Him for guidance and for a word for my people (New Zealanders). I spent Saturday in prayer and fasting. I have to admit, that I found this fasting different, and harder on my body. But I persevered and this morning I received a Word from God in this next piece of Ezekiel.
I am explaining prophesy for South Africans out of the Word, from the book of Ezekiel 33.
God provide each nation with watchmen, in other words people who will speak His Word over the people of concern. In verse 2-“Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman.” Coast is the easy movement of a vehicle without the use of power, meaning God supply the power to them that have to stand as watchman over His people, so that the people can move according to the Word spoken over them. These watchmen’s function is to alert people of possible danger. How are people warned? The watchman “[must] blow the trumpet, and warn the people” (verse 3). People are using different forms of trumpet blowing these days. We see different YouTube video’s, blogs, Facebook posts, and word by mouth, which can be used as warning systems.
In 2008, I received the following word from God, “Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul” (verses 4-5). It was then that we started our emigration process to New Zealand. God warned us about the troubles that was yet to come over the country of South Africa, and we heeded His voice. Many have seen us as traitors, abandoners, but I rather listen to God’s voice and do as He says, than pay the consequences thereof. Who knows what would have happened if we did not…
Now, the last few days, I received no word from the Lord. This morning while reading this next piece out of Ezekiel, the Word of the Lord said to me, “Take note of this, for this is for the future of your homeland, South Africa.” My bones shook and it took a while for the trembling to leave my body. In verses 24 we read that God was addressing those who “inhabit those wastes of the land,” who says, “we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.” To you, the Lord God says: “Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land? Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?” Does not God determine who inherits the land?
God has seen your evil ways, for He says, “As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence. For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains …shall be desolate, that none shall pass through. Then shall they know that I am the Lord , when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed” (verses 25-29). The same hand who stretch out their hand to you (South Africa) in friendship shall be the sword of your destruction. Your mountains will seize to give you bounty, your rivers will stop to flow. You will flee to the open fields, but wild beast will devour you. Those who stay in the towns, will face pestilence, deep souring sores will cover your bodies and you will cry out to those who have deceived you. That will be when you’ll realize that you’ve been deceived.
They will turn back to God, but it will all be a ruse. The people will go to hear the word of God and about God’s promises, in verse 30,”… saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord .” People tend to forget that God knows the heart of every man, for He sees the covetousness of their hearts. Verse 32- “And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.” This is people showing up to church services to see the worship team perform and the pastor/priest give the message, but heed the message not.
Therefore, it is my responsibility as watchman (woman) to warn you, otherwise, we read in verse 6, that God declared that your blood will rest on my hands, if I fail in warning you. Jesus told me to ‘write it down,’ and I will do as my Lord ask of me. We see in the following verses that God wants everyone to be saved. God wants the wicked to turn away from their wicked ways. It is our task as Christians to warn those who do wrong, to help them turn away from their sins, for God”… have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live.…” (verse 11).
God is also warning those who think that they are walking in righteousness: “The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth” (verse 12). Look at your lives and make right with God. I, too, once walked with a self-righteous attitude, looking down at the ‘sinners’ of the world. Like an alcoholic refusing to acknowledge my problem, therefore, cannot heal and find forgiveness from God. Are you really better than them? What murderous thoughts have been going through your hearts? You think God does not see the wicked deeds? You think He doesn’t hear the cries of the innocent? You say, “the way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal” (verse 17). Remember that God “will judge you every one after his ways” (verse 20),
This is what God wants you to do: verse 15-
- “If the wicked restore the pledge” – this is the pledge that our forefathers made with God.
- “give again that he had robbed,” – tithing to the church
- “walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity” – follow the Word of God in prayer, fasting and submission to His Holy Word.
- Then says God, “he shall surely live, he shall not die.” And 16- “None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him”
God’s judgement is final. He knows the heart of man. That deep dark secrets or desires you hide, will be exposed. Therefore, set your lives straight, turn to Him and no matter what happens in this world, you will be at peace.
My prayer for all of South Africa today, is that you will turn back towards God, follow His statutes, walk in love and understanding, and make right which is wrong, and He will bless the land again. For now, I will pray mercy for everyone who reads this. #GodCanDoThis
