“Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth” (Ezekiel 8:12 KJV).
I found it interesting to read in Ezekiel that God were showing Ezekiel that people were worshiping other gods, inside the Temple, in the dark. But eventually even that, which happens in the dark, will be exposed. God clearly state in His ten commandments that we should have no other gods, we should not make ourselves gods, and we should not bow down to these gods! God says he is a jealous God. To be jealous, is to feel or show a resentful suspicion that the one you care about is attracted to or involved with someone else.
God consider us all as His children and describe us as His bride. Is it not fair to say, that God did warn us multiple times, that He will visit the iniquity upon those who choose to turn away from Him?
In my series on ‘Vision of Strange Images,’ I told you that we are all together on the threshing floor. Each one of us are a special grain marked by God. God has a special scribe at hand to do this marking. We read:
“And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar” (Ezekiel 9:2 KJV). Please note that Ezekiel is describing them coming from the north, in other words they are coming to destroy… But with the men were as scribe and he is given a special task…
“And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity” (Ezekiel 9:4-5 KJV).
We are all marked by a man from God just like an envelope. It carries your name, your address, and a stamp. You are invited and your seal is paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. When you RSVP, by believing that Jesus died for your sins, accept the truth of the resurrection, and repent of your own sins, You too, can wear this special mark.
But what does this mark mean for us? Jesus explained it like this: “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matthew 24:31 KJV). Most people are worried about the mark of the beast, ignoring the Mark That Matters.
Before the trepidation period can begin, we see this scribe going around marking those who will be raptured. “And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel” (Revelation 7:2-4 KJV). Please note the amount… yeah a real eye opener. Well considering that there are 7.8 billion people in this world, and only 2.4 billion classify under being Christian. Lets be honest with each other, not every one writing down ‘Christian’ in the block asking Religion, are true Christians. Remember what I said at the start of this blog, about things done in the dark? God knows the heart of every man.
Jesus work on everyone from the inside out. You cannot help but “sigh” and “cry for all the abominations that” goes on around you. Most days I find myself praying for mercy for this world. But I know one thing for sure: Me and my family will follow Christ and our RSVP is sent.
Have you accepted Jesus in your life?
