The Devil is in the Detail
But ever tiny detail in this prophesy counts and reveals to us these creatures true purpose.
Faces
Ezekiel 1: 6-And every one had four faces,
Ezekiel depicts these creatures as having four faces. Faces of 10- ‘of a man,’ ‘a lion,’ ‘an ox’ and ‘an eagle.’ In Revelation 4:7, we find a similar picture. We read: “The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle” (KJV).
These creatures weren’t like the ones in Ezekiel, but their faces were LIKE a lion, eagle, man and ox. Also, their duties of worshipping day and night are different here.
Jesus can also be described as each of these faces. We all know that Jesus comes from the tribe of Judah; therefore, He is the Lion of Judah who can open the scrolls (Revelation 5:5).
The ox represents Jesus, in the same way, that Jesus came to serve the Father in Heaven and as a living sacrifice for us all. We read in Leviticus 17:3-4 that, Israelite’s should sacrifice ox, lambs and goats in the tent of meeting.
Jesus also came as the Son of Man. But He will return as we are warned in Matthew 24:30 (KJV), “then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.”
The eagle personifies that Jesus came to redeem us from our sins and remembers it no more. As the Psalmist eloquently puts it in Psalm 103:2-5 (KJV), “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
I must admit to you that I at first thought that the evil one would send these evil creatures out to personify Jesus and to deceive many. Wouldn’t it be just like him to replicate everything in heaven? But as my study intensifies, the Holy Spirit led me to the four Horsemen that are released from the seals that Jesus opens. We read Revelation 6.
Verse 2: 1st horse- White.
On the horse is a man with a bow and a crown. This man’s task is to conquer.
Verse 4: 2nd horse- Red
The horse rider was given power and a sword to take peace from the earth and to let people kill one another.
Verse 5: 3rd horse- Black
This rider held a pair of balances and was instructed to pay only a penny for wheat and barley, but he wasn’t allowed to touch the oil or wine. (Injustice)
Verse 8: 4th horse- Pale
This rider was given a name that will strike fear to the hearts of people of this world. He is called Death. He isn’t alone for Hell will follow shortly after. He will destroy a ¼ of this world with the sword, hunger, and pestilence.
Ezekiel’s creature: Revelation’s Beast
Man – Conquer Lion – Lion of Judah
Lion – Conflict Ox – Serve and Sacrifice
Ox – Injustice Man – Son of Man
Eagle – Death/ Killing Eagle – Strength and Redemption
Remember that Ezekiel’s creatures had all four of these faces on one creature and will come to conquer the nations, cause conflict amongst the people, through great injustices that will result in the death of many – this will mainly be aimed at Christians around the world.
Wings/hands
Ezekiel 1:6 …and every one had four wings.
These creatures only have ‘four wings,’ “… their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies” (Ezekiel 1:11, KJV).
In Revelation 4:8 (KJV), we find that “each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under the wings.” Isaiah saw this same image (a creature with six wings) in the year in which King Uzziah died, please read Isaiah 6:2.
Ezekiel 1:8-And, they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides…9-Their wings were joined one to another… Their faces and wings were stretched upward, for they were going to travel up and had a connection to one another. You will note that the hands are under the wings, hidden away. We read about our works “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16, KJV). However, “…where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work” (James 3:16, KJV). When you do honest work, you do not mind to show it to the world. It is when you want to harm and cause confusion that you don’t want to show your hand. We need to keep in mind these creatures (leaders) are sent out by God, against the church, just like He sent Nebuchadnezzar against His people. People won’t realize what they are doing till it is too late.
Feet
The question arises on how will they go about with their work. We read in Ezekiel 1, that ‘their feet were straight feet’ and ‘sole of their feet’ was ‘a calf’s foot’ (verse 7) and verse 12-And they went every one straight forward… And in verse 17-…they turned not when they went. Refers to how they will go out walking determined, straight towards their goal. An image I see here is military-style walking, not turning away, but marching on. It could be that these leaders will make use of their military and police to do their work for them.
The hooves of a calf are hardened claws, so they are strong and will last long for this mission that these creatures are on. We Christians are told to let “… your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace,” which forms part of the armour of God (Ephesians 6:15, KJV). These marching bandits will be walking with a spirit that will oppose peace, and they will be there for the long run.
Oxen were used for threshing corn and wheat. In Bible History Online, you can read about the different styles of threshing. I will focus on how the hooves of these animals were trampling on the grain; hence we get the “root-meaning ‘to trample down or ‘to tread underfoot.’ ” They also, used a cylindrical devices, in a similar appearance to this wheel that Ezekiel is seeing, which were used for cutting up of wheat.
These creatures will be sent to do the ‘threshing’ of the wheat from the chaff. John the Baptist said, “whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire” (Matthews 3:12, KJV). In Micah 4:12 (KJV) it is written, “but they know not the thoughts of the Lord, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.”
Seeing that it is harvest time (remember my dream about my timepiece), we will find that things around us will become much worse and that time is moving faster. We are in the threshing process, and we need to stay strong.
Body
Ezekiel went on describing these creatures as ‘sparkled like the colour of burnished brass‘ (1 verse 7) and verse 13-…like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning. 14-And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
The angel who appeared to Daniel had the same appearance. It says in Daniel 10:6 (KJV) that, “His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.”
In the book of James, he speaks of the power of the tongue. “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body [went up and down among the living creatures], and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell” (James 3:6, KJV). Great leaders can persuade people to do anything; this is called being a silver tongue. These leaders will speak against the church and its members, causing conflict. We already see that secular groups want bible study out of schools, organisations and parliament. Their task is to use the tongue to create conflict and conquer.
These leaders will also cause nations to rise against Israel and say, “let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion,” but God will “gather them as sheaves into the floor” (Micah 4:11-12, KJV). And to the people of Israel, God said, “Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the Lord, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth” (Micah 4:13, KJV).
You might ask: why is all this happening? God has a special plan for everything. Remember He is in control…Always…
The wheels are turning
Ezekiel 1:15 (KJV)-… behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures… 16- The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
King Solomon said that “a wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them” (Proverbs 20:26, KJV).
Wheels are used for transport and propelling a vehicle or person forward. The rotation of this spinning wheel causes the viewer to see the colour of beryl (colourless). These wheels were placed upon the earth to propel them forward. The living creatures became the inner wheel (axel) to this larger wheel that was rotating around. These leaders will be starting the actions that will cause a greater and much more consequential effect around the world. Meaning it will start with four countries, but will quickly spread around the world.
Harvest time
Ezekiel 1:18 (KJV)-As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
These creatures are rotating so fast that rings form that seems to be ‘full of eyes.’ These eyes are there to serve the master. The Psalmist described it as, “…the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us” (Psalms 123:2, KJV).
In my vision about these creatures movement, I rather see spirals, propelling them up and further like a turbine that uses its blades (spikes of a wheel) to propel the vehicle forward. God’s spirit will be set in their wheels so that the earth can be threshed. Jesus said, “let both grow together until the harvest, and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn” (Matthew 13:30, KJV).
To summarize, before I continue with the good news. Out of these troubled times, four leaders will rise that will have the appearance of our Savior. They may look the part, but they will come to conquer the people, cause conflict (as we already see around the world), there will be an escalation of injustice in a time of widespread famine. Followed by the death of a quarter of the world’s population through violence, more famine, and pestilence. The Spirit of God will give speed to these actors that will cause the true believers in Christ to stand out (harvesting process). You will remember that I received a timepiece in my dream- to say that time is running out, for the time of restoration is upon us…
