What do you consider to be trust? Trust is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something. But it could also be considered, an arrangement whereby a person holds property [your life] as its nominal owner for the good of another. In Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) Solomon pleaded with the reader to, “trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Do you trust the Lord our God with all your heart?
Trusting God, when your whole life and the world around you falls apart can be a hard thing to do. Jeremiah were prophesying the word of God for over forty years. You will find that, “Jeremiah’s ministry began in 627 BC and ended sometime around 582 BC” (Insight. org). In all this time people refused to hear him, beaten him and thrown him into a prison. https://www.insight.org/resources/bible/the-major-prophets/jeremiah
Among all the unbelievers there were one that believed in the word that Jeremiah preached. And that person was Ebed-melech. God knows the heart of every person. God didn’t need to say anything to this man, for he was a eunuch, a man who has been castrated, and his duty was to guard the women’s living areas in the king’s court. He was seen as the least, but God gave the following word:
Go and speak to Ebed–melech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee. But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord : and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid. For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord . God will uplift the one who put all his/her trust in him. We see in Luke 7:28 (KJV) that Jesus said unto the people, “for I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Should you not then place your trust in Him that holds this whole world in His hand?
My prayer for you today is that you will trust in God with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your understanding. May He then bless you for taking this great step today. #GodCanDoThis
