For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.29.11-13.KJV
I want to start a new movement called, ‘All lives matters.’ Jesus did not come to die for a select few. No. Jesus gave us two commandments to follow. Mark 12:30-31,’And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment. And second is like, namely this, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is none other commandment greater than these.’
People watch these protests and riots going on and wonder how all this will end. When we first seek our Lord God, He shall give us an expectant end. He wants to give us a hope and a future, not evil. But we need to seek Him in prayer.
How can we turn the angry hearts around and live in peace with our neighbors? We find the answer in Proverbs 25:21-22, ‘If your enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: for you shall heap coals of fire on his head, and the Lord shall reward you.’ Because Jesus, Himself said, ‘but I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you’ (Matthew 5:44).
I want to challenge everyone reading this. Pick a flower and give it to a stranger with words of love. Tell them that you love them (not in a creepy, stalker way, but the way God wants us to love). Small acts of kindness is the only way we can calm these flaming hearts. At the top of this piece is my flower to you. May the peace of God follow you this day.
My prayer for you today is that you will find peace in the arms of the Lord. #GodCanDoThis
