True Prophecy

‘The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence. The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the Lord hath truly sent him.’ Jeremiah 28:8‭-‬9 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.28.8-9.KJV

It is hard to tell these days which word comes from God and which ain’t. Even in Jeremiah’ time so called prophets came to try and give hope to the people. Jeremiah said that most prophets are there to warn people about things to come, such as war, pestilence and famine. When people believe the false prophets, more often than not their yoke became harder. In this case the wooden yoke, became iron and even the beast in the field would be against the people of Judah.

In 2 Peter 1:19-21(KJV), it states, ‘we have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. ‘

Last week I suffered a spiritual attack. I became physically sick knowing the suffering of the people to come and I begged God for mercy and His grace. While this transpired the deceiver would be telling me that I’m losing my mind. I had to stand in the word and prayed for the Holy Spirit to comfort me. I felt a sense of calm. It’s hard to truly prophecy in this day and age. On the one side your heart desire messages of hope and peace. And the other side you get the people who spread fear and messages of doom and gloom. According to itiswritten.com/searchforcertainty, a true prophet’s ‘prediction comes true,’ ‘lead…back to, the bible,”relate to Jesus,”exalt God’s law,’ the person loses strength and find it hard to breathe, and ‘by their fruits you will recognize them.’ Most of all, this piece claim that, ‘when we discover God’s faithful commandment-keeping church, we should also look within the church for the gift of prophecy. ‘ The Lord gave this gift for the church ‘for our benefit.’
